For my webventure project, I wanted to create a fun, interactive game for users to play on. However, developing my own game concept took a lot of time, so I decided to find an existing game where I could make a simple replica of it on my website. The games that came to mind were Minecraft, The Backrooms, and Five Nights at Freddy's. I chose these games for their simplicity but engaging gameplay. I thought these games were simple enough to recreate by using WIX's website tool, but also enough to entertain and keep the player engaged.
"In the end, I decided to recreate The Backrooms because it was my favorite idea out of the three. I had a clear vision of how I wanted the game to be played and the visual aesthetic it should embody. After doing extensive Google searching, I collected a set of images that perfectly captured the eerie and disorienting atmosphere of The Backrooms, providing me with a solid foundation to build upon. I would use these visuals to help guide the player through a maze where they will be challenged to find clues and avoid creatures, making sure the final game would deliver the unsettling experience I had in mind. Overall, I want the game to be a unique adventure that players will find challenging, fun, and rewarding as they work their way through the backrooms.
As for my GIFs, I have yet to come up with any specific idea of how they would look or where they would be placed in my webventure. However, I'm considering creating GIFs of monsters roaming the halls or adding scary effects to the images, like flickering lights or objects moving eerily. There is a lot of work that needs to be done but I believe it will be worth it in the end. I’m super excited to see how the final product will look!
